Statistics service revises Russia’s 2015 GDP fall estimate to 2.3%

MOSCOW, Apr 2 (PRIME) -- The Federal State Statistics Service has revised its estimate of Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2015 to a 2.3% contraction from a 2.5% fall, the service said in a statement on Tuesday.

The change was made due to introduction of an international methodology of valuation of housing services produced and consumed by of households, an estimate of fixed capital consumption depending on its current market value, and coordination of data on export and import with the balance of payments, the service said.

The service also confirmed its estimates for growth of Russia’s GDP at 0.3% in 2016, at 1.6% in 2017, and at 2.3% in 2018.
